From the Bistro Off Broad, Latin Flavors, the Food Factory, and Smokey Gringos in downtown Winder, to the wide variety of restaurants at the Exchange, and Edee’s Shack BBQ in Statham, you will never go hungry in Barrow County.
Before you eat, you may want to work up your appetite at Fort Yargo State Park. Fort Yargo is Georgia’s seventh most-visited state park, offering hiking, biking, fishing, lake swimming, camping, cabin rental, disc golf, and numerous other outdoor activities. You can enter through the new entrance off HWY 81 and visit the new state-of-the-art Welcome Center or you can work up a sweat by taking the new Wilkins Walking Trail from Lee Street to the Welcome Center (.98 miles each way).
When the sun goes down, the good times continue! The Innovation Amphitheatre on Austin Road offers a diverse array of concerts and performances from up-and-coming artists to your favorites from yesteryear. At Jug Tavern Park in Winder, thousands will crowd downtown at the various festivals, concerts, and events that are scheduled throughout the year.
To finish off the night, you may want to visit the View at Latin Flavors to take in the lights and views from one of Barrow’s tallest buildings.
